CLOSET DESIGN
Form and Function
The design aesthetic is the key to the success of the project.
Do you need long hanging, short hanging, and shelves? How tall is the person using the space?
Is the user right handed or left handed?
How often do you cook and what are your everyday go to ingredients?
Is there an item that you tend to stock up on more than something else?
These are just some of the questions that are considered during the design phase.
Do it once - Do it right!
Building materials used, whether cement, wood or metal, are also important elements in the design phase of the project. In the united states, we have adjustable shelves and wood or melamine are primarily used. Designing in Mexico, where cement construction is the norm, the placement of a wood shelf in that cement needs to be exact. So proper planning and a fool proof design are super important.
Storage for the way you live.
Closets can have doors or they can be without. Either way, the type of storage space you have needs to identify with the items that you want to store in that space.
We will take an inventory of your belongings. This will allow to design a storage space that will accomodate your items and hopefully give you some room to grow. We may decide if we need to supplement the storage design with drawers, bins, and baskets.
As we go through your things, you might take this opportunity to edit - eliminate - anything that you no longer need, wear, etc. Really think about what it is that you want to bring with you into this newly created space.

Measurements are key.
Measuring the space is critical to the success of the project.
Understanding how items are being used is also important so that we know where they will be stored - need to accessible or can be stored on the top or bottom, more difficult to reach areas.
